What do you have to consider with a mouthguard?
First of all, it is important to use the mouthguard and not just to have it somewhere "for emergencies". The emergency is now, so the protective mask must also be worn.
The BfArM advises how to use the mouthguard correctly:

    • Wash hands thoroughly with soap before putting on the mask
    • Do not touch the inside of the mask when putting it on
    • Check that the mask is properly attached. It must fit snugly over the mouth, nose and cheeks.
    • Slowly get used to breathing with a mask. It shouldn't hinder you.
    • The mask becomes moist through breathing and talking. Then please remove the mask and replace it.
    • It is best not to touch the mask after putting it on so as not to accidentally contaminate yourself.
    • For safety, keep to the recommended minimum distance and the usual hygiene measures.
    • To remove the mask, hold it only by the rubber / cords, not by the fabric.
    • Then immediately wash the mask at at least 60 ° or if this is not possible, store it in an airtight sealed bag.
